Alabiso meets Verdone

At the Cinema Barberini in Rome there was an evening that went beyond a simple film event: it was a true celebration of memory, friendship and Italian cinema.

On the occasion of the restored screening of Un sacco bello, Carlo Verdone's debut masterpiece produced by Sergio Leone, the audience was able to rediscover, almost fifty years after its release, a film that marked an era. The restoration, curated by the Cineteca di Bologna, has given new light to a film that still manages to recount Italy's vices, dreams and contradictions with irony and depth.

But the real heart of the evening was Eugenio Alabiso.

Editor of the film and a central figure in our Camposecco Far West, Alabiso was the protagonist of an emotionally charged moment: a meeting with Carlo Verdone, a longtime friend and the soul of the film. After the screening, Verdone wanted to introduce him to the audience with sincere and affectionate words, acknowledging the value of his work and the human bond that has united them for decades.

The embrace between the two, spontaneous and authentic, moved the entire hall. it was a symbol of a cinema made not only of technique, but of relationships, passion and sharing.

In his speech, Eugenio Alabiso stressed how Un sacco bello is still incredibly relevant today: the characters, the social dynamics and that unique way of telling Rome continue to speak to new generations as well. A clear sign of the film's strength and its ability to cross time.

to make the evening even more special, the presence of important personalities from the world of cinema, including Aurelio De Laurentiis, Luca Verdone and other protagonists of the Italian cultural scene, all gathered to celebrate a work that has become a collective heritage.

For Camposecco Far West it was a moment of great pride: to see our frontman at the center of such a significant event, recognized and celebrated, represents not only an achievement, but also a confirmation of the human and artistic value we bring forth.

An evening that will remain etched, not only for the film, but for the intensity of an encounter that tells, once again, the magic of cinema.

Before the cowboys.

Before the duels.

Even before the cinema.

Here the streets of Rome passed.

Not just any path, but lines of stone drawn to dominate the world.

Consular roads traveled by legions on the march, by messengers of the Empire, by merchants loaded with goods and hopes.

Straight, stubborn roads, carved into the earthas a promise: Rome will go everywhere.

Camposecco was already there.

Open SpaceSilence.Horizon.

A land that does not ask, but observes.

The Romans knew that feeling well: the border is not a wall, it is a void to cross.

The consular roads did not followthe landscape. They challenged it.

They cut hills, waded rivers, crossed open fields like a blade in the dust.

Every mile was marked by a stone, a stone, a certainty: you are here, and Rome is there.

In Camposecco, even today, time seems to do the same.

He stops. He watches you go by...

A child who dreams is a happy child. I was that child: dreamy, sensitive and full of imagination. My father, Carlo Simi, was my hero, my guide. A cultured and confident man, but in everyday life he also knew how to show his fears. Perhaps our only difference was this: I have always believed that, if you have a dream, you have to fight every day to achieve it. We were 43 years apart, but if we had more time as adults, I'm sure we would have done great things together.

Judith has learned since she was a child that everything in life is conquered with effort, perseverance and determination.
"They taught me to pull out my claws and roll up my sleeves. When I finished high school, my greatest desire was to become an airline pilot. My father disagreed with my decision. We had a fight and I left home for a year.

I started working, went to flight school and got all my certifications. When I came back, my father didn't say anything. He looked me in the eye, shook my hand, and congratulated me. In that look I saw that he was proud, and this gave me great inner strength. "

Judith lived an intense and unique childhood and adolescence, growing up in close contact with great personalities of cinema, culture and high society. His father saw anyone who could earn his respect, both emotionally and intellectually, as a friend.

"He could be a prince, a director, an actor or a craftsman. One of his closest friends was Pier Francesco Borghese, with whom he had also shared university studies and many moments of lightness. In the world of cinema, on the other hand, one of his great friends was Sergio Leone. "

They respected each other deeply, loved the same things and shared a similar professional style: rigorous, meticulous, almost obsessive. When Sergio Leone died, my father cried for a whole month, locked in his room.

He also cultivated a splendid friendship with other great names in Italian cinema: Sergio Corbucci, Sergio Sollima, Enzo G.Castellari, Alessandro D’Alatri, Pupi Avati, Maurizio Zaccaro... and many actors.

He was remembered with affection and admiration by Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Eli Wallach, Gian Maria Volonté and Claudia Cardinale.

Of course, I cannot fail to mention Alberto Grimaldi, an extraordinary, generous man, certainly one of his most sincere and loyal friends.

A few months after the expected inauguration of the Carlo Simi Museum in Covarrubias, it is fair to recall the strong bond that Giuditta Simi has forged over time with the region of Arlanza and Pinares.A bond built through three significant visits: the first in 2016, on the occasion of the inauguration of the legendary Sad Hill cemetery; the second, two years ago, to meet the representatives of the Municipality of Covarrubias, impressed by the idea and decided to support it; the last, just two weeks ago, after receiving the prestigious José María Caparrós de Cine-Historia 2024 Award in Barcelona for thehis best film dissemination work thanks to his book Designer de sueños. Carlo Simi, an architect sold out to the cinema.

A journey that has turned into an intimate pilgrimage among the symbolic places of this land: Covarrubias, Lerma, Burgos and the spiritual Santo Domingo de Silos. A journey through history, affections and memory, in the sign of a dream that is about to become a reality.

Judith lives with enormous enthusiasm this upcoming inauguration. She knows that when she had this idea many thought it was impossible, even that she was crazy.
“And yet here we are. The museum is beautiful, a real treasure. Excellent work has been done. I am very happy that my vision has been reflected in that of all those who participated in its creation. It's a living museum!And that's what matters, ”Judith clarifies.

This dream, shared by many, has reached its culmination thanks to the great work of the extraordinary team of the Carlo Simi Cultural Association.
"Everyone has played a vital role, starting with President Joseba del Valle Barrio, to whom I owe much of the success of the project. He is a key figure, for his preparation, tenacity, enthusiasm and above all patience.He is joined by the lawyer Guillermo Barral, a great professional and a person with a big heart, who has always shown total availability and faith in the project. I also want to mention the architect Javier Sánchez for his meticulous attention to every detail, and Mikel Nebreda for his great creativity, to whom I offer my sincere condolences for the recent loss of his mother.Finally, a heartfelt thanks to the architect Montserrat Moneo for his constant and valuable support".

Giuditta met Joseba in 2016, during the inauguration of Sad Hill Cemetery. From the first moment she was impressed by his personality and sensitivity.
“I was deeply impressed that as soon as we met, he immediately showed me the grave of his father Ismael in Sad Hill Cemetery. Then he took me and my mother to visit his mother.It is important to clarify that being a sensitive person does not mean being weak at all. You can also be very strong and determined. For this reason, I would like to tell an anecdote related to Alberto Grimaldi, one of my family's best friends. It was precisely because of that strong character and my determination that he called me ‘the Prussian marshal’, traits that I found in Joseba from the beginning.Together, where one did not arrive, the other arrived. Without a doubt, his presence was fundamental to this project and my mother and I were happy that we never had any doubts about him."

This is a truly comprehensive collection dedicated to one of the greatest film set designers of all time.Without a doubt, it will be a new source of inspiration for directors, screenwriters, producers and film fans in general. A unique museum, located in one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, able to demonstrate how with commitment and tenacity you can give a new future to these places.
“Yes, the Carlo Simi Museum will house most of my father's works.I believe it is right to share his archive with the world and transmit a professional style that today may seem obsolete. My greatest joy is to see how young people, although fascinated by Artificial Intelligence, still love the whole traditional process of creating sets, costumes and everything that happened behind the scenes.I like the idea that his designs can become a source of study and inspiration for new set designers and even architects. Also, I think it's very important that the museum is located right at the filming locations. In the end, the size of the city is a secondary detail. For me, Covarrubias is a precious treasure trove of history and monuments, which, regardless of the museum, everyone should visit."

Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful things about this museum will be the great surprise it will have for visitors who discover it for the first time.
"What I have noticed in the various exhibitions that I have organized over time is that many people do not know or do not fully understand what the scenery is and what is behind it: the study, the preparation, the inspections on site, the drawings, until the actual realization of the work. During my visit I saw glances full of amazement and great charm.I can't predict what the impressions of future visitors will be, but I can imagine them and I'm sure they will be very positive, or at least that's what I hope.It was enough for me to observe the expression of the architect Javier Sánchez while we were in Rome working on the archive: that look of amazement and wonder says it all, considering that for him that is professional normality. I am convinced that the drawings made for the film The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, but also those created for all the films shot in Spain, will be very much appreciated.Now we just have to wait and let the surprise come with the inauguration."

From England comes the collaboration of the team that is creating the future Spaghetti Western Route, an initiative promoted by Austin Vince and his group, which aims to connect Covarrubias to Tabernas (Almería) by crossing rural Spain.This project, recently presented at the World Travel Market in London – one of the most important tourism fairs in the world – has already aroused great international interest.

Judith has a son, Lorenzo, in whom she sees many similarities with her grandfather.
“Unfortunately, when my father died, Lorenzo was only 4 years old. However, over time he was able to find out a lot about his grandfather's work.Something really profound awakened in him when my mother and I went to Tabernas to participate in the Western Film Festival in Almería, where we received the Memorial Award dedicated to my father. There he could smell the same air that his grandfather breathed while walking through the western villages, thus being able to better understand his way of being.

After completing a classical education and a degree in Economics and Business Management, he studied a Master's Degree in Film and Television Management. Subsequently, he gained a lot of experience working for the Leone Film Group, the company of Sergio Leone's children.He then moved to Amsterdam to work at Off the Fence, an international production company specialising in documentaries, where he produced short films and video clips.
In short, he immersed himself in the world of cinema, preferring the creative side over the production. I discovered a son who was passionate about writing screenplays, something I could never have imagined.I believe he inherited the creative geniuses of his grandfather Carlo and a bit of mine.

And as if that were not enough, he is also a ski instructor; he has cultivated his love for mountains and nature since he was a child, and I am happy that he has a "second" job that he is passionate about.Lorenzo has always supported and continues to support the Museum project, and I am very happy that he is part of the Carlo Simi Association."

Yes, friends, Walt Disney, one of the greatest movie wizards of all time, was right: only those who have the courage to pursue their dreams can achieve them! Judith had a great dream and, above all, the courage to pursue it.That dream is called the Carlo Simi Museum, it is located in Covarrubias and is destined to become the great pride of an entire region, one of the most important film museums in the world.

Camposecco Far West meets Enzo Santaniello, when the Cinema returns home.

There are meetings that are not just visits, but time travel.
We at Camposecco Far West have experienced a special one, one of those that remain on you: the meeting with Enzo Santaniello, forever the legendary Tojo, and before that the child of the McBain family in "Once Upon a Time in the West".

Entering the Santaniello house was like crossing the threshold of an immortal set.Not only to remember an acting career, but to listen to a life of cinema told by those who really lived it, with eyes full of memory and the smile of those who have never stopped loving that world.

Enzo's story begins as a child, between carousels and advertising, when cinema was still a dream as big as a child's gaze. Then the dream came true, together with the giants: Sergio Leone, Giuseppe Colizzi, up to the human and powerful embrace of Bud Spencer in "They called him Bulldozer", directed by Michele Lupo.
Moments that are not just films, but pieces of history.

Hearing from her voice the memories of the long Leonese waits, standing on the threshold of the McBain house, was like hearing the west wind blowing slowly again. Suspended moments, made of silences, looks and dust, which today are worth more than a thousand words.

And then Tuscany, the sets lived as a large courtyard of friends, where work turned into play, laughter and complicity. The names that warm our hearts are back: Nando Paone, Marco Stefanelli, Giovanni Vettorazzo, Ottaviano Dell 'Acqua, and many other faces that for us are not simple extras, but a film family.

This meeting was not just a tribute to Enzo Santaniello.
It was an act of love towards a cinema that no longer exists, but that continues to live in the stories, memories and passion of those who keep it.

Thank you Enzo, for welcoming us with generosity, for giving us authentic emotions and for reminding us that the real West is not just made of dust and guns, but of people, friendship and memory.

The West lives.
And it will continue to do so, as long as someone knows how to tell it like that.

Today, 31 October 2025, the Camposecco Far West association paid tribute to the good giant, our legendary Bud Spencer, on the day he would have turned 96.

Many years have passed since his death...but there is no talk of a real disappearance...Bud is always with us, in the hearts of all of us, as confirmed by the many followers who have viewed, commented and shared the posts that Camposecco Far West has dedicated to him today.One of the things that made us most happy was the sharing of our posts on the official Instagram page of Bud Spencer and that of Cristiana Pedersoli.

What we have been doing for some years with our posts, our interviews and our exclusives, we do with passion and with the heart, so there is no greater joy and gratification than to see that those who sow something always reap it... Our special thanks today also go to all of you who follow us and who also on this special day ofsaid to our myth, you have dedicated some of your time to view our posts!

An unforgettable day with Michele Gammino

At Camposecco Far West over the years we have been fortunate to experience many important meetings. But there are some that remain deeply engraved in the heart, especially for those who, like us, love cinema and the world of Bud Spencer & Terence Hill.

One of these special meetings was undoubtedly with the great Michele Gammino, the historic Italian voice of Terence Hill in many of his films.A voice that for generations has meant laughter, emotions, adventure.

Already some time ago we had the pleasure of collaborating with him, when — with immense availability — he lent his narrating voice for our official presentation video, which accompanies our events around Italy.
It was, once again, our precious Master Eugenio Alabiso who made this new meeting possible.

Gammino welcomed us into his home with enthusiasm and kindness, showing us his personal studio: a true temple of cinema, theatre and television, full of posters, memories, awards and photographs that tell of an extraordinary career.

During the interview, Michele Gammino retraced for us the stages of his long career: from his beginnings in radio, television, theatre and, of course, dubbing. Apart from Terence Hill, we couldn't help but mention another iconic character he voiced: Harrison Ford, particularly as Indiana Jones. But Gammino was also an actor, starring in numerous films directed by important directors.

Hearing that familiar voice up close literally gave us the creeps. Yet, the most exciting moment came when he recited for us the poem "Er montaatore", written by himself and dedicated to Master Eugenio Alabiso. A sincere dedication that deeply moved Alabiso, who — visibly moved — embraced him with true affection.

A day we will never forget.

Thank you very much to Master Gammino for opening the doors of his life, his art and his voice.

In the Master's lair: Camposecco Far West meets Franco Micalizzi

There are meetings that are not just visits, but real time travel.
That was exactly what happened with Maestro Franco Micalizzi.

We entered his house and, step by step, we found ourselves in his private studio: a magical, intimate, protected place... a sort of Batman's lair, where every object tells a story, every corner smells of cinema, music and legend.

Here we have literally lost ourselves, with our eyes and with our hearts, among extraordinary photographs that portray the Master alongside characters who have made the history of the world show. Images that are not simple memories, but living testimonies of an unrepeatable era.

Then they, the silent protagonists: the keyboards.
Instruments with which Micalizzi has created immortal acronyms, soundtracks that have entered the collective memory of entire generations.
From the best known in the world, "Trinity", to the most popular cartoon, "Lupin", through thousands of hits that have accompanied Italian and international cinema.

And for us at Camposecco Far West, the emotion was twofold in listening to and telling the most "our" soundtracks, the ones we feel as part of our identity:
"In the Middle of That Trouble Again",
"What's Going On in Brazil",
up to the most recent and powerful "The World Under My Shoes".

Each story of the Master was a precious piece, an authentic anecdote, an open window on a glorious past, narrated directly by the voice of those who built it.

In short, another leap into the past, one of those we love to do and share with you:
spectacular events, real emotions, stories that deserve to be remembered and handed down.

Franco Micalizzi tells Trinity

A special day in Florence with Santino Scarpa, aka Gulliver: the unforgettable voice of Bud Spencer & Terence Hill

There are days that remain imprinted not only in the memory, but in the heart. And the one spent in Florence with Santino Scarpa, aka Gulliver, was one of them. At Camposecco Far West we have had the privilege of meeting and interviewing a voice that has marked the collective imagination of thousands of fans of the most beloved couple in Italian cinema: Bud Spencer & Terence Hill.

The meeting took place in a private and enchanting location: the Associazione Canottieri Firenze, overlooking the Arno, right in front of the majestic Ponte Vecchio. A place with a unique charm, which made the atmosphere of the interview even more exciting and intimate.

Gulliver has performed some of the most beloved songs from the couple's films, real soulful soundtracks. Among them:
• "Brotherly Love", the sweet ballad that accompanies "Even and Odd"
• "Angels and Beans", with a country and melancholic flavour
• "Switch", rhythmic and unmistakable, perfect soundtrack for their fistfights
and many other melodies that today continue to move and make generations of fans smile.
During the interview, Santino told us about the behind the scenes of those recordings, but also about his deep connection with the city of Florence, where he lived important artistic moments related to theatre, music and cultural life. He told us with pride about his participation in local historical events, such as Calcio Storico Fiorentino, and about Alma Cilenti, where he shared an intense musical period.

Gulliver is not just a voice, he is a living memory of film music, a bridge between emotion, cinema and popular culture. His humility, his availability and the passion with which he still recounts those years are a gift for all of us.

Camposecco Far West – where memory meets legend.

Camposecco Far West enters the history of the world western: the cross of the C.F.W. association placed in the Sad Hill Cemetery, a bridge between Italy and Spain, between Leone and the Bud & Terence couple

"The laying of our cross in Burgos is not just a symbolic gesture.It is the recognition of a strong cultural identity, which links two apparently different but complementary worlds: the poetic epic of Leone's western and the popular, comical, but humane soul of the so-called ‘western beans’, which found in Bud & Terence two immortal ambassadors," said Alberto Corridori.The ceremony, curated with great attention by the Carlo Simi Association – already known for having brought to light the Sad Hill site – also represents the beginning of a project shared between Italy and Spain, with the aim of enhancing, protecting and promoting the historical locations of the European western through events, exhibitions, thematic routes and institutional collaborations.

The Camposecco cross joins the hundreds already present in the symbolic cemetery, but it brings with it something unique: a bridge between two genres, two visions of the western, two nations and two cultures that have made this cinema great in the world.
In an event rich in symbolic and cultural significance, the name of Camposecco, a historic location immersed in the heart of the Simbruini Mountains, officially enters the firmament of world western cinema.On August 21, 2025, in fact, the Carlo Simi Cultural Association, represented by President Joseba Del Valle, laid the cross of the Camposecco Far West Association inside the legendary Sad Hill Cemetery, thus sanctioning a cultural and cinematographic twinning of international scope. Sad Hill Cemetery is today one of the symbolic places of the European western.

Philologically

reconstructed in Spain on the original set of "The Good, the Bad, the Ugly" (1966), it represents a monument to the memory of Sergio Leone's cinema.It is here that rest, in symbolic form, names such as Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Eli Wallach, Ennio Morricone, editor Eugenio Alabiso, and even Metallica, who have always paid tribute to the aesthetics and music of the Italian western.
As of today, Camposecco Far West is also part of this cinematic pantheon.
The credit goes to the Camposecco Far West Association, founded by Alberto Corridori and Gianpaolo Gentile and today led by a close-knit team of enthusiasts and scholars, including Francesco Romano. The association has been active for years in the enhancement of the Camposecco plateau, a place where over 60 films were shot, mainly westerns between the 60s and 80s.But above all, it is the place where the legend of the most beloved couple in Italian cinema was born: Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, protagonists of two milestones as they called it Trinity (1970) and ...they continued to call it Trinity (1971).

The Association Camposecco Far West APS, meanwhile, continues to promote the territory of the Simbruini Mountains with activities that combine film culture and environmental respect, in line with the values of the Natural Park.
Between exhibitions, unpublished interviews (available on the "Camposecco Far West Official" YouTube channel) and an international project under development, the association confirms itself as a point of reference for all fans of Bud, Terence and the Italian western.

Camposecco Far West at Capua Film Fest: an unforgettable day in the name of Bud Spencer!

Saturday 19 July will remain engraved in our hearts as one of the most exciting days experienced by us at Camposecco Far West. We had the honor of participating in the Capua Film Fest, in an event that celebrated the eternal myth of Bud Spencer, with the special presence of Giuseppe Pedersoli, son of the legendary actor.The audience was large, animated by affection and nostalgia for a figure who made the history of Italian cinema (and beyond).Together with Giuseppe, I (Alberto) and my tireless adventure partner Gianpaolo took the stage to talk about our association's commitment to preserving the historical locations of the Italian western, and to promote the project linked to the enhancement of the cinema of the most beloved couple ever: Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. For me it was the first time in front of an audience withyes big... and important and the emotion was very strong. But the welcome, the warmth and the words of Joseph gave us an immense charge!!

Accompanying our presence was also the Bud Power product stand, which attracted many curious and passionate people, and above all the exhibition of the drawings of our super collaborator Manuele Brancato.His illustrations inspired by the world of Bud and Terence have left everyone speechless... including Giuseppe Pedersoli, who was impressed by the style, irony and soul that Manuel manages to convey with each work.

An intense day, made of smiles, memories and new connections, which pushes us to continue with even more passion our work of protecting and promoting cinematic memory. Thanks to all those who came to say goodbye, to those who listened to us from the stage, and of course to Capua Film Fest for the invitation. The myth of Bud lives on, grows and continues... thanks to you too!

Last Western Station

A packed hall for the states general of the spaghetti western at theInstitut Français Centre Saint Louis in Rome. Surrounding the screening of "$7 on Red," the 1966 super classic starring the legendary Anthony Steffen, in a 4K restored version, the capital hosted a legendary evening entitled "Last Western Station." Reunion that, according to many, would have driven the master Quentin Tarantino, a well-known admirer of our genre cinema, crazy.

"It all started a year ago, in that of Pietrastornina, in the province of Avellino, between a glass of whiskey (or maybe it was wine?) and a crazy idea shared with Davide Mancori, artistic director of the Aic - Italian Association of Cinematographic Authors, and with the cultural popularizer Francesco Romano - begins director Manuel de Teffé, son of the actor Steffen, born Antonio de Teffé -. With the same grit as a gunslinger braving the sunset, we vowed: let's reunite the great family of the Italian-style western!"

To celebrate the golden era of the various Ringo, Django, Sartana and Sabata (and shoot anecdotes and memories like silver bullets), the great Franco Nero arrived at the saloon-theater at Centre Saint Louis; director Sergio Martino, who directed "Mannaja," the last western shot in the village of the legendary Roman Elios theaters; Eugenio Alabiso, Sergio Leone's editor; the director of "Johnny Yuma," Romolo Guerrieri. Also, producer Sandra Zingarelli; composer Franco Micalizzi, author of the soundtrack for "They Called Him Trinity"; director Marco Tullio Barboni, second assistant director of "They Called Him Trinity"; producer Carlotta "Charlye" Bolognini; actress Gabriella Giorgelli; and actor Pippo Franco, who composed the music for the 1969 western "Hate is My God."

On stage, leading the rodeo of words and "amarcord" was the sparkling Andrea Schiavi, a well-known face for the program "Stracult" on Raidue, this time an authentic gunman of the microphone who rode the evening with the mastery of a talk show Django.

A band of movie outlaws who admirably galloped the audience back in time, when guns sang and Micalizzi's soundtracks whistled like the wind in the desert. Also, the great Franco Nero, whose deep voice roared like a thunderstorm over the prairie.

"The restoration of "$7 on Red," a film starring my father Anthony Steffen, brought this cult title back to life with a sharpness that would make an eagle of the Wild West envious. Images so clean, it's like riding side-by-side with Steffen himself! A round of applause to Giorgio Simoni, curator of the recovery, who tamed the film directed by Alberto Cardone like a cowboy tames a wild mustang," jokes de Teffé, author of the novel "Once Upon a Time in Rome," dedicated precisely to his father, star of dozens of successful westerns. There was no shortage of sunset tear-jerker emotions: Anita Madaluni recalled the legendary Nino Benvenuti, recently departed for his last ride, a boxer but also a gunslinger with Giuliano Gemma. While Sergio Salvati, master of photography, received a collective hug that was worth more than a buried treasure. Many friendly faces of our cinema were in the front row: from composer and director Cesare Rascel to actors and stuntmen Ottaviano Dell'Acqua, Massimo Vanni, cinematographer Nino Celeste, actress Mirella D'Angeloto the president of the Italian General Film Archives, Graziano Maraffa.

The guys from "Camposecco Far West - Bud Spencer & Terence Hill," brought some dust and laughter worthy of the historic couple. No "nostalgia effect," just the taste of listening to the tales of those who lived through that celluloid Far West, among duels, wagon trains and soundtracks that still make the prairie tremble. After all, the evening was organized precisely to remember the rotagonists of yesterday's cinema and to reflect on the interest that, even today, continues to exist in the western genre.

There are meetings that are not just stages, but real turning points.

For Camposecco Far West , the recent meeting with Renato Casaro, one of the greatest

film illustrators of all times, it was one of those unforgettable moments.

An event made possible thanks to the commitment and passion of our precious collaborator

Andrea Coppelli, who made what seemed like a distant dream come true.

Renato Casaro is not only an illustrator: he is the hand and visual soul of hundreds of iconic films.

He has signed the posters that have made the history of cinema: from The Good, the Bad, the Ugly to

Conan the Barbarian, passing through The Last Emperor and, of course, many of the films of

Bud Spencer and Terence Hill.

His style is immediately recognizable: epic, dynamic, poetic. Casaro did not draw

simply the faces of the actors, but it restored their spirit, translating the magic of the film into

a single, powerful image.

A dialogue between generations and passions

During the meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of deep esteem and mutual curiosity, the Master

shared with us anecdotes, memories, inspirations and reflections on his long career.

We talked about the role of illustration in cinema yesterday and today, the value of

visual memory and the way in which his art has contributed to making the imaginary eternal

of the Italian western.

For us at Camposecco Far West, we have been working for years to protect and enhance the locations

and the protagonists of the "western beans" cinema and the Spencer-Hill couple, it was an honor

to be able to dialogue with a figure who has shaped the dreams of millions of spectators.

The meeting with Renato Casaro was not only a tribute to the past, but a push towards

the future. A confirmation that our work makes sense, that art must be told, protected and

handed down. And that cinema, that made of hands, brushes, sand and sweat, is still capable of

There are moments that remain in the heart, and what we have recently experienced

Camposecco Far West, Alberto Corridori and Gianpaolo Gentile, was one of those moments

unrepeatable.

Finding yourself once again in front of Nobody...

We had the honor of meeting him, precisely on the occasion of a special occasion: the

on his birthday. Find him in splendid shape, smiling and full of energy,

it was a privilege we will not forget. Terence welcomed us with the usual simplicity

and courtesy, and for us it was a real honor to be able to express our esteem, our

affection and gratitude from all the fans who follow us every day.

On the occasion of his birthday, Camposecco Far West wanted to pay tribute to Terence with a

symbolic gift but full of meaning: a real leather belt, handcrafted,

signed Camposecco Far West.An object designed to represent the western soul of our

project, the link with the territory and the desire to preserve – even in detail – the identity of a

cinema that has marked generations.

But the real surprise came when we presented Terence with our project, currently

under development. An important initiative, designed to honor the cinematic and human legacy

by Bud Spencer & Terence Hill. To our immense delight, Terence has accepted with much

enthusiasm, confirming his support and trust. The project – still top secret – is in

work in progress, but will soon be unveiled to the general public, with the intention of involving fans from

all over the world and create a bridge between past and future.

This meeting is a historic moment for us. Seeing Terence listen to us, reflect and then

telling us that "yes" so serene and determined, has given us new strength. It is the confirmation that passion and respect,

when they're authentic, they go straight to the heart.

our goal remains to protect and enhance the cultural and cinematographic heritage of a

cinema that has taught fundamental values such as friendship, justice, irony and humanity.

And today, more than ever, thanks to the meeting with Terence, we feel ready to take an even more

Camposecco Far West meets George Eastman: a giant of the Italian western between cinema and memory

There are names that belong to the history of cinema, and then there are presences that have written history with the body, with the gaze, with the soul.
Luigi Montefiori, known in the world of cinema as George Eastman, is one of these presences.A giant of the big screen — physically and artistically — that has indelibly marked the panorama of Italian genre cinema, in particular that of the Italian western, but also of horror and police.

For Camposecco Far West, meeting him was an honour, but above all a privilege to be able to interview him together with the screenwriter Carlotta Bolognini.
Not only because George Eastman is one of the most recognizable and beloved faces of that "frontier" cinema that we celebrate so much, but because behind the actor hides a cultured, sensitive, ironic man deeply linked to the craft of storytelling.

The hard face with a kind heart
Talking to him, a much more complex figure emerges than the simple "hard" of the western: an intellectual loaned to popular cinema, a curious and never banal artist, who has been able to cross different eras while remaining faithful to his precise vision of art.

Having Luigi Montefiori with us was like physically and symbolically bringing that cinema back to the places where it was born.His words, his stories and his enthusiasm have enriched our archive with authentic testimonies, but above all they have reminded us of how much our genre cinema has been, and still is, an expression of creative freedom, cultural identity and collective energy.

A hug between past and future

The meeting with George Eastman is not just an event to remember: it is a signal, another step in our project.
Born in Genoa, Luigi Montefiori chose the stage name George Eastman to "Americanize" his image in international titles, but his essence is all Italian. Tall, powerful, with marked and intense features, he has often been chosen for roles as an antagonist, as a "bad guy", as an imposing figure who commands respect.
But those who have had the opportunity to talk to him, as happened to us, immediately discover a brilliant, ironic, passionate man, with a very vivid memory and a critical awareness rare in the world of entertainment.

During the meeting he told us about his beginnings, his first roles in westerns filmed between Spain and Italy, the physical fatigue of the stunts, the anarchist creativity that animated those sets, where one improvised, took risks, and experimented.

But Eastman wasn't just an actor: he was also a writer and director.He has written for big names like Joe D’Amato, and has co-authored cult films that still make the rounds of international genre film festivals today.
It is proof that the protagonists of those years are not "distant legends", but living witnesses of a unique season, and that there is still so much to tell, collect, pass on.

Camposecco Far West enters Cabum studios to meet the legendary Oliver Onions

There are musics that are not just heard: they are experienced. It only takes a few notes and immediately you are

catapulted into a world of epic fisticuffs, improbable chases, friendships

indissoluble and genuine laughter.

We are talking about the unforgettable soundtracks signed by the Oliver Onions, aka Guido and

Maurizio De Angelis, which have made the history of Italian cinema - and especially the films of

Bud Spencer and Terence Hill.

For us at Camposecco Far West, being able to meet them in the legendary Cabum recording studio, a place

sacred place of film music, was a moment of genuine emotion.

Guido and Maurizio need no introduction: they are the authors of true anthems

generational anthems such as Dune Buggy, Flying Through the Air, Bulldozer and Orzowei - songs that

not only accompanied the images, but amplified them, becoming part of the identity

of those films.

Their music is pure joy, it is complicity, it is energy. And above all, it is recognizable, transversal,

eternal. The meeting took place in an intimate atmosphere full of warmth, together with Maestro

Eugenio Alabiso, inside the Cabum studio, where many of the songs that today

are part of the collective imagination of millions of people around the world.

We had the pleasure of listening to their stories, curiosities from behind the scenes, the challenges

creative challenges of a career that has led them to be loved and recognized even abroad, where they

they still play live in front of thousands of fans today.

Between an anecdote about Bud, a laugh about Terence, and some musical hints played there,

live, we felt at home. Because the music of the Oliver Onions is home. it is an integral part

of the Spencer-Hill universe, and it is part of our cultural DNA.

Camposecco Far West has for years been committed to preserving, enhancing and retelling the memory

of Italian-style Western cinema, with special attention to the figure of Bud & Terence.

This meeting represents a fundamental step for us: the confirmation that our work

also speaks through music, and that music, real music, can be the most powerful vehicle

to unite eras, generations and passions.

The presence of Maestro Alabiso then, generated a special joy inquanto great

friends in private life. A friendship bordering on brotherhood that made us feel truly

Between dust and memories: meeting with Yanti Somer

There are faces that never grow old.
They remain suspended, like certain dawns in the desert, when the light is still uncertain and the world seems to hold its breath.

Who has not fallen in love, at least once, with the peasant girl from "...they kept calling it Trinity"?
No need to answer. We already know.

We at Camposecco Far West, every time that scene returns, we find ourselves there, spectators and dreamers. Trinity climbs onto the wagon, curious, light-hearted...and among the crates, sacks and dust, she appears. A look that asks nothing, but stays. Always.

Yanti Somer.

A name that for many has remained attached to a few minutes of film, yet capable of spanning decades.
But who is Yanti really? Where did the girl who seemed to come out of a frontier dream end up?

Stories, it is known, take strange directions over time.
Some said she was back in her native Finland, among still lakes and endless skies.
There were those who, with a thread of melancholy, claimed she was gone.
And then there was the silence. That silence that sometimes swallows up even the brightest images.

But such a figure cannot really disappear. Not without leaving traces in the dust.

So we decided to look for her. Not out of nostalgia. But out of respect.
Because some faces deserve to be found.

We began as one begins every hunt in the West: with few certainties and many leads.
Phone calls, messages, unlikely contacts. We followed clues as fragile as footprints in the sand: horses, races, children, a life far from the spotlight.

Then, when it almost seemed like a mirage, came the turning point.
A woman's voice, gentle: "I think I know where to find her."

And at that point there is nothing left to decide.

Off we go.

Toward Rome. Or rather, toward that indefinite border between city and country, where asphalt gives way to earth and time changes pace.
The journey flows between waiting and overlapping images: scenes from movies, galloping horses, distant laughter, the high and merciless sun.

Then the call.

On the other side, a voice. Sweet. Slightly surprised. But welcoming.
As if, after all, that moment was already written somewhere.

We arrive at an estate surrounded by greenery. No noise but the light wind and some rustling in the trees.
And as in any good tale, she is not the first to appear.

it is a small dog who comes toward us, determined, as if to understand who we are and what we are looking for.
Then, behind her, a figure.

A simple woman. No artifice. No distance.

Yet, just a glance is enough.

it is her.

Yanti.

Time, on her, worked not by subtraction, but by addition.
It took away the rush, it took away the noise, but it left intact what really mattered.
That face that the cinema had made familiar is still there, recognizable, but truer.

I go to her with a small gift: a dipladenia.
It is not a casual gesture. In the language of flowers it means "burning love."
Not the shouted one, but the silent one of the fans, who have never forgotten.

He smiles. With that same delicacy we remembered.

He introduces us to his little dog, then his horse: Count Dracula.
A name that wrings a smile, especially for a white horse, proud and bright. But in his eyes there is energy, character. he is a horse that tells stories, just like her.

We walk through the meadows, and time changes pace.
There is no more hurry, no more distance.

Yanti begins to tell stories.

Fashion, the first shots, French sets.
Then the meeting with Enzo Barboni, almost like a border crossing. And from there, a world opening up: Terence Hill, Bud Spencer, dusty sets, endless days, real laughter.

The western, of course. But also much more.
Cinema that changes faces: science fiction, history, unexpected encounters. Billy Wilder. Franco Nero. Ugo Tognazzi. Gianni Garco. Rossellini.

Names that weigh, but on his lips they become light, almost whispered.

There is no vanity in his memories.
it is as if he is talking about a life that has been, but that he no longer feels the need to hold back.

And perhaps that is what is most striking.

For before us is not an actress who wants to be remembered.
There is a woman who chose to live.

The horses, the fields, the children she teaches.
A daily routine made up of simple but full gestures.

Yet, every now and then, the past resurfaces.
In a smile, in a sudden memory.

Like when, with a thread of embarrassment and a lot of sweetness, he hints at a stage kiss with Edwige Fenech.
A light moment that tells more than a thousand words.

The sun begins to go down, lengthening the shadows on the grass.
And we realize it is time to go.

There is no need to say it.

We pause a moment longer, as one does at the end of any important journey.
And among the words that remain suspended, one resurfaces, simple, almost whispered:

"River water always flows the same way."

Perhaps this is true.
But sometimes, along its course, it gives us encounters that are worth a lifetime.

We leave like this, with dust on our shoes and something more in our hearts.
Not just the memory of a beloved face, but the certainty of having encountered a true story.

Between dust and memories: meeting Yanti Somer

Enzo G. Castellari in Camposecco, Far West...

There are encounters that remain etched in the memory. And then there are days that seem to come straight out of a movie.
That lived together with Maestro Enzo G. Castellari was both things.

We had already had the privilege of meeting him in his Roman home, a place that seems to preserve decades of history of Italian cinema.Among film prizes, historical weapons, posters, works by great illustrators and a real mountain of BIC pens — with which the Master makes incredible drawings — we had felt like children inside a living museum of great cinema.
And there, for the first time in our lives, we were even able to see and touch a real Telegatto.

It was during that visit that the Master launched a simple but meaningful request:
"Would you take me to Camposecco?"

For us it meant taking it back to the land of Keoma, the 1976 masterpiece that is still considered one of the most beloved and poetic westerns ever made in Italy.

And speaking of Keoma, there's an anecdote we love to remember most of all.After seeing the film, some big names in American cinema asked Castellari in which corner of the United States he had shot those wild and majestic scenes.
The Master, amused, did not resist the game and replied with absolute naturalness:
“Somewhere in Colorado.”

And instead that "Colorado" was our beloved cameratan plateau.

When we arrived in Camposecco, Master's emotion was palpable.
He looked at thatimmense silent plain as one who suddenly finds a piece of his life suspended in time.He walked slowly on the white road that cuts the plateau, stopped, observed the mountains, then resumed the path almost chasing invisible memories.

At one point she turned to a rock. She was silent for a few seconds, then smiled.

“It's wonderful… nothing has changed. Here time has really stopped.Up there on that rock, I'd set up the camera for the woman with the cart scene.”

At that time we were no longer just listening to a director.
We were listening to a man who was reliving his past.

With him that day were also his son Andrea Girolami and the legendary Massimo Vanni, the famous Gargiulo from Tomas Milian's films. And together with them we became children.

For a few hours we went back to playing cowboys, improvising actors under the guidance of an excellent director. Laughter, fake shots, western poses and cinematic tales mixed with the wind of Camposecco, in an atmosphere that seemed really suspended between reality and legend.

Then it was greeting time.
We returned to the valley, to that Rome made of traffic but also of history and cinematic charm.

But something from that day remained up there, between the rocks and the dust of the plateau.

Perhaps because certain places do not belong only to geography.
They belong to memory.

A gift for Castellari and Camposecco Far West

Cloppette..., cloppette..., cloppete...

Camposecco is not just a place. It's memory, dust, horses, cinema. It is that invisible thread that continues to connect enthusiasts to the great Masters who have made the Italian western immortal.

And if there is anyone who manages to link the carefree world of the Bud & Terence couple to the quintessential Leonese western, in addition to our beloved Maestro Eugenio Alabiso and the great Enzo G. Castellari... that someone is undoubtedly Maestro Ernesto Gastaldi.

Author of one of the most discussed, beloved and poetic films of Terence Hill's career: My Name is Nobody.

A film born from an idea of Sergio Leone, who according to many wanted to somehow "recover" the spaghetti western after the hurricane called Trinity.
Maybe just legends. Maybe not. But one thing is certain. Leone called young Gastaldi.
Thirty-eight years old, imposing even then, almost two meters tall and a personality capable of withstanding even the comparison with the Roman giant.

And it is Master Gastaldi who tells us about it, a few minutes after letting us sit in his living room.
An incredible place, suspended between past and present, where today he still enjoys computers, social networks and new thoughts to put black and white.

The walls speak for themselves. Posters, photographs, memories of a lifetime dedicated to cinema.An important part of the wall is devoted to westerns, but among all the images some inevitably dominate the gaze: Our Nobody. A dozen posters from the same film, in all languages...

Then Ernesto begins to tell and it seems as if he can almost see the scene before his eyes: he entered Leo's office.
No greeting.No introduction. Only Sergio Leone who, without even getting up from his desk, began to make the noise of the horses' hooves:

“Cloppete… cloppete… cloppete…
Three cowboys are approaching the village.
Three faces not to be recommended..."

Then he stopped, looked at Gastaldi and said:

"You continue the story... and bring me a script the first possinile."

And so the legend was born.

The beauty of Maestro Gastaldi is that he holds nothing back.
Speak freely, honestly, directly.He says exactly what he thinks, without worrying about reactions. Even when, in our silent amazement, he starts talking about Terence Hill — our absolute idol — saying that according to him, if he had studied even more, he could have become an immense actor.

But within us the question arises spontaneously: "But... isn't it already?"

Every now and then the Master raises his eyes to check if we are really following him.
Like he needs to know if we're still there.

But how could you divert attention?

How could one not be enchanted in front of a man who has really experienced Italian cinema?

Between one memory and another, a name often appears.

Mara.

His beloved wife, who disappeared too soon.

And there the voice changes. It is immediately perceived that it is not just a memory.
It is a constant presence. A wound still alive. A love that continues to fill the room even in silence.

The Master doesn't even try to hide it. In fact, he tells it with disarming sincerity.

And perhaps this is precisely what makes Ernesto Gastaldi so enormous, beyond his stature: the ability to pass, in the same story, from the titanic strength of western cinema to the most authentic fragility of life.

But when a story is beautiful, you know... time runs faster than horses.

The afternoon ends almost without us noticing.

We would continue to listen to him for hours.

Then, suddenly, comes a request as simple as it is wonderful.

The Master looks at us and says:

"Come back and see me..."

And in that moment you understand that certain meetings are not simple interviews.
They are pieces of life that will remain forever in those who really love cinema.

The trip to Sassalbo had something different than usual. It was not just a Camposecco Far West trip, but a rendezvous with a living legend, one of those voices that, without you noticing, end up accompanying the lives of millions.

The voice of Trinity.

We arrived at the small parking lot of the restaurant where we had scheduled lunch. A simple place, nestled in the mountains, with that suspended air typical of villages that seem out of time. There, in that quiet place, we were about to meet one of the most heard voices in the world.

The wait had a strange, almost unreal flavor. Between one joke and another, to dilute the excitement, we moved to the next room. Inside, like a sudden plunge into years gone by, we found an old Juke box.

We did not think twice about it.

We inserted the coin.
And off she went.

"Trinity."

The notes filled the air, bouncing between the walls like a familiar echo. For a moment everything seemed to stop. There we were, in a small mountain town, listening to one of the most iconic songs ever ... just as we were waiting for the man who had given her voice.

It almost felt like a scripted scene.

Instead, the best was yet to come.

A few moments later, while the music was still gliding through the air, I felt a presence behind me. A large, silent shadow. Then, a light tap on my shoulder.

I turned around.

In front of me, a veritable mountain of a man.
Imposing, but with a warm, almost amused look.

"Are you Alberto Corridori?"

For a second, time really stopped.

The voice was unmistakable. No introduction or explanation was needed. It was him.

Hannibal Giannarelli.

And in that moment I understood that we were not just meeting an artist, but a piece of history that, in an incredible way, had come knocking at our backs-just as his voice was still playing in the mountains.

We sat down to a meal shortly thereafter, but the truth is that we hardly ate that meal. Not because of the quality of the food, far from it, but because the emotion was too strong. To have Hannibal in front of us, to listen to him talk, to laugh with us... it was like being inside a story that until recently belonged only to film and music.

And it was between courses that we began to discover the man behind the legend.

Hannibal was not just an extraordinary voice. He was a man with a spirituality all his own, deep and silent. A man of the church, yes, but in his own way. Every Sunday he plays the piano during Mass, but his faith does not follow rigid patterns, does not fit neatly into "classical" definitions. it is something he has built up over the years, shaped by experiences, travels, life.

And especially by Australia.

It was there that it all began. Starting out as a simple piano bar pianist, he quickly found himself singing the most beautiful music, accompanying such extraordinary names as Peppino di Capri and Mina on their Australian tours. A world far away, but incredibly alive.

And as if that were not enough, he grew up musically with the Gibb brothers.
Yes, them, indeed. The ones the world would soon come to know as the Bee Gees.

Then, one night like many, the call came.

A certain Franco Micalizzi, proposed him something simple, almost marginal: to lend the voice for a theme song. An almost "in-between" film, directed by E. B. Clucher. The title, still uncertain, sounded like this: They Called Him Trinity.

Hannibal agreed; he left for Rome. He entered the studio.And something rare happened.

"Good premiere."

The recording was immediate, powerful, perfect. Micalizzi was speechless. He then also recorded When Spring Is in the Air, again for film, again for a western.

And then he went back to Australia-without knowing anything.

Without knowing that, in the meantime, Trinity was conquering Europe. That that voice was entering homes, cinemas, collective memory.

Years passed.Until one day, almost by chance, a friend made him listen to that theme song that was depopulating in Italy. And there, between surprise and a barely perceptible shadow, Hannibal realized that a part of that success belonged to him ... but he had never really experienced it.

After lunch he accompanied us to his bar. An authentic, unfiltered place. Above a wooden barrel, almost forgotten but perfectly visible, was the trophy he won at The Voice. Not guarded, not displayed: shared.

Because, as he told us with a smile, some things only make sense if they stay among people.

Then he picked up a guitar, and began to play.

Without stage, without distance. Just voice, strings and truth.

Camposecco Far West, in that moment, was no longer a band; it was part of something.

And it was just between notes, almost as if he were speaking more to himself than to us, that he dropped a simple phrase, but heavy as a promise:

"Nothing is finished until it is finished."

There was no bitterness in his words. Rather a direction. As if that circle, which had been open for years, was slowly finding a way to close.

And indeed, before long, that voice would be back where it perhaps always should have been.

Another Sergio of Italian Cinema!

Often when we talk about the fantastic world of Bud Spencer & Terece Hill, we always tend to tell the career of actors, actresses, directors, composers of soundtracks, stuntmen who have worked on these films, but rarely do we dwell on screenwriters, editors, directors of photography, set designers...well, one thing that Camposecco Far West aims for a lot, is precisely thatto make these important figures known and give them the right consideration.

Today we will talk about a great director of photography: Sergio Salvati.

The first time we went to meet him was shortly after the pandemic, on March 30, 2022.As a precaution, they still wore masks, respected the safety distances, but it was really an exciting meeting.Because Sergio Salvati was not only a great director of photography, Sergio Salvati was a person with some characteristics that tend to disappear more and more nowadays, let's talk about humility and humanity...this was Sergio Salvati, who when he told his memories of My Name is Nobody, The Good the Bad, but also of his long collaboration with thethe director Lucio Fulci, was able to convey all the emotions he felt at the time and that he felt in telling the episodes years later.

He told us about when, together with the legendary editor Eugenio Alabiso, he was called to the set of My Name is Nobody when filming began, Sergio Leone needed great professionals to make the film a masterpiece ( as it later became).Unfortunately, neither Alabiso nor Salvati are credited in the film, but from their stories we know well how valuable their role was.

Another very exciting story concerns an episode that happened during the filming of The Good, the Bad andthe Ugly.One of the most iconic scenes in the film is the explosion of the bridge. To organize the scene well, they planted the various bombs, they organized with the Spanish army on the signal that had to be made to blow everything up. Something went wrong and the bridge was blown up before filming. Sergio Salvati in that film was an operator at the car.Sergio Leone obviously jumped into all the fury. Saved, he cried like never before, he was also ready to pack his bags and go back to Italy, because he feared that Leone was angry with him who had not resumed the explosion!! Eventually the two clarified and that film became one of the greatest successes of Italian cinema.

Eugenio Alabiso and Sergio Salvati met again after so many years...it was a very exciting meeting for both of them, they recalled when, during the filming of The Good,the Bad and the Ugly, a football match was organised between the Spanish and Italian crews. The game ended 1-1 and the goal of the draw was done by Salvati.Camposecco Far West had the honour of handing over a plaque to Sergio Salvati. Both on thatoccasion and in subsequent meetings, Sergio Salvati has always shown his immense love for the world of cinema... a love that began as a boy, when he had to help his father Adolfo.A love that lasted until the end of his life..thank you Master ,for your beautiful stories and for your infinite kindness and humanity!!! Often, when talking about the fantastic world of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer, the careers of the actors, actresses, directors, composers and stuntmen who worked on their films are told.More rarely, we focus on the screenwriters, editors, cinematographers, set designers and many other professionals who have helped to make them unforgettable. One of the objectives of Camposecco Far West is precisely this: to make known and give due consideration to these important figures of cinema.

Among the most touching publishing projects dedicated to the world of Italian cinema, "Simply Terence Hill" represents a rare and valuable work.
Conceived, edited and realized by Cristina Dente, this book is much more than a simple tribute: it is a living and sincere collection of the love that an entire generation - and not only - has for a man and an actor who made history.

Remo Capitani, our Mescal: legend and smiles among the rocks of Camposecco

Some faces, some smiles and some fights never get old: they remain carved in the film of memory and in the heart of those who love cinema and its most authentic magic.

"Entered the world of cinema thanks to his father Ferruccio, at the time when American cinema came to shoot its kolossals in Rome, Remo worked mainly in the spaghetti western genre.

Remember the joke "This is new to me, I've never beaten him before"?, and a sneaky protagonist like Ray O’Connor of the very cultured Fra Tazio da Velletri, but also a communist militant and very young partisan of Franco Napoli's band called "Felice", a friend of the famous Gobbo del Quarticciolo.On the other hand, he talked a lot about the cinema he had made, from the beginning to the end of the 1950s until Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, where he brought his beautiful brigand's face and his agility as a hullabier. The gruff and sincere soul that still hovers in the mountains today, between a laugh and a well-timed shot, between sand, silence and myth.We have remembered him many times, but in a special way together with his son Massimo, who gave us real emotions, telling us not only about the great actor, but above all the extraordinary father that Remo was.

With him we reached the exact point where Mescal, in "They Called Him Trinity", meets Trinity and Child in the famous "Valley of the Mormons". A real place, on the Camposecco plateau, where cinema meets history, and memories become wind, stone and sunset.
It is there that memory comes alive, that the past still walks beside us, with dusty boots and a clever smile.

Usha, the wolf one step from heaven

There are days that are not just experienced, but remain suspended in time, etched in memory like images that do not fade. Our visit to Massimo Zerboni's Lupimax breeding farm was one of those rare experiences, capable of leaving a deep mark.

As soon as we crossed the threshold of the breeding farm, the outside world suddenly lost consistency. In its place, an older dimension, made of silence, instinct and presence. We had no time to settle in that a dozen wolves literally surrounded us. Their movements were fluid, elegant, almost imperceptible, yet charged with absolute awareness. There was no fear, but respect. A fine balance between distance and trust.

In that moment we understood that we were not mere visitors: we were entering, cautiously, into a world that requires listening before understanding.

Massimo Zerboni welcomed us with a disarming calm. An authentic presence, devoid of any forcing, that of someone who knows deeply the animals he lives every day. With just a few essential but decisive indications, he taught us how to approach the Czechoslovakian wolf: lower energies, avoid direct gazing, respect spaces. It is not about control, but about entering into relationship.

And then, almost like an initiatory step, she took us to her.

The Lady of the Pack.

Her arrival was slow, measured, charged with a dignity that needed no demonstration. The years were showing, and could be felt in every step. She approached quietly, then stopped, sat down, as if to give herself time to continue. Yet in that slowness, there was a silent, unbroken strength.

His gaze was deep, ancient. One of those that did not just observe, but seemed to understand.

It was impossible not to recognize her. Usha is the wolf who accompanied Terence Hill for two seasons in the series One Step from Heaven, becoming a symbol for millions of viewers. But live, every TV image loses importance: only her presence remains, real, concrete, surprisingly sweet.

She approached without diffidence, with a naturalness that made everything immediately easy. Soft, elegant, discreet. She never invaded, never imposed. she stayed close, as if that closeness was the most natural thing in the world.

And while the cameras tried to capture that encounter, she let herself be observed with an almost conscious calm. As if she knew, somehow, that she was once again center stage. Not to perform, but to exist.

The day spent at Lupimax was not just a visit, but a profound experience of emotion, learning and respect. And at the center of it all, her.
